Now, I will be telling you how you can contribute to the success of one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) which is SDG #2: No hunger, right here in Malaysia. In Malaysia, there is an organization named the PERTIWI Soup Kitchen. The PERTIWI Soup Kitchen is a non-government sub-organization of the Islamic Women Action Organization (PERTIWI). PERTIWI does various activities such as providing scholarships for unfortunate children and improving the welfare of single mothers and their children.
The PERTIWI Soup Kitchen has four main objectives:
The PERTIWI Soup Kitchen distributes food 4 times a week at Chow Kit, Masjid India and Kota Raya area on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. They distribute food from 9.30pm until 11.30pm. Each night, 550-700 packets of food are distributed.
There are three ways that you can help:
1. Volunteer
The PERTIWI Soup Kitchen is always looking for more volunteers to help them distribute food and supplies. Volunteering is a great way to give back to community and it will provide you with an experience that you will not forget. If you are interested in volunteering, you can contact Munirah Hamid at +6012 236 3639 for more information.
2. Donate
Other than volunteering, you can also donate money. The money donated will be used to buy food such as canned food, biscuits and mineral water. Meanwhile, supplies such as crutches, bandages, heat rub cream & balm and eucalyptus oil will also be bought using the donations. It will also be used to sustain the organization.

3. Spread the word!
If you do not have the time or resources to volunteer ot donate, you can still help by creating awareness campaigns about the PERTIWI Soup Kitchen and encourage people to volunteer or/and donate. You can spread the word by talking about it on social media platforms, making posters as well as public announcements.
By helping the Pertiwi Soup Kitchen, we will all help get rid of poverty together.
