How does it relate to the Global Context?

Globalization and sustainability is very important as it has helped to change the world. Globalization is when people, companies and governments interact and work together. This has been carried out through various activities such as international trade and information technology. Globalization has impacted various factors such as culture, economic development and physical health of communities around the world. Ever since thousands of years ago, people have been interacting with people from other places for trade. An example can be Silk Road, which located in Central Asia. Silk Road is the trading grounds for China and European countries during the Middle Ages. A principal factor in the rise of globalization in recent years is technology. With technology such as emails and video calls, it is easier than ever for people around the world to interact with each other. Apart from that, softwares such as cloud storage systems and analysis systems also allow companies to make share documents as well as calculate economic opportunities easily. (Globalization 101)

Globalization has helped change the world through various ways. Firstly, it has helped reduce the wealth inequality in the world. This is because when countries & companies collaborate, it will increase the economic market through creating more jobs thus reducing the global poverty rate. Next, there will be an increase in competiton in the economy. As the number of companies expanding to other countries increase, this means that there will be more producers in a country. This will lead companies to constantly improves their products or services in order to compete, thus we get better products and possibly lower prices. (Rao)

Sustainability is the ability of something to maintained at a certain level (Oxford Dictionaries). In this case, sustainability is a concept that is used in sustainable development. Sustainability has helped change the world by allowing people to learn how to be frugal with their resources so that the future generation will be able to enjoy the same amount of resources that we have now.
