Before we explore the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), let us define 'sustainable development'. Sustainable development is defined as a type of development that enables it to benefit the current generation as well as keep enough resources for the future generation. (World Bank)

In order to fully carry out sustainable development, the economic, environmental and social impacts of the development must be considered important equally. Countries also need to have a balance in the economical, environmental and social needs of their country. For example, a country could have a need of more jobs so they open a factory to provide jobs. However, the factory will produce pollution so it will conflict with the country's need to reduce the amount of pollution made. Here, countries have to face the challenge of prioritizing their needs.
